Policies & FAQ

Aequilibria? What Does it Mean?

Aequilbria: Latin for equilibrium, at its root, it means balance. Hands-on bodywork helps heal the body, relax the mind, and restore the balance we all need. As therapists, we all strive to customize each treatment to exactly what your body needs to restore its own equilibrium.

When to Arrive?

First-Time Client? : You can fill out your intake form online here so that you only need to arrive 10 mins early. If you have not already filled out your intake form online, please arrive at least 15 minutes before your appointment to allow time to fill out the form upon your arrival. If you arrive prior to 15 minutes before their scheduled appointment and the door is locked not to be alarmed. We lock the door during appointments for our client and therapist’s safety.

Regular Patrons: Please arrive at least 10 minutes before the appointment. We want to ensure you receive your full treatment time.

How Can I Pay? Should I Tip?

Cash or Check payments are preferred. Credit cards are also accepted.

Tipping is not required, but greatly appreciated. 20%-25% is customary.

What If I Have To Cancel My Appointment?

Were happy to accommodate but please provide at least 4-hour notice.

Running late? Please let us know as soon a possible to adjust things accordingly or reschedule if needed.

Why is Drinking Water so Important?

Water is a natural anti-inflammatory. The best thing you can do is drink it, before AND after your massage (about 18-24oz). This helps the body filter out the toxins released during the massage. If you are sore the next day, continue to drink water. You can also use an ice pack or take a hot Epson salt bath to help relieve the pain.

Do I Have to Remove All My Clothes?

Undress to your comfort level; we’re comfortable as long as you are. Most people remove all articles to aid in glute work but is not necessary. You will be covered at all times except for the area being worked on.

What is the appropriate etiquette?

This just means to please silence cell phones, talk in a quiet voice, and generally show respect for others receiving their treatments. This is all in an effort to maintain an environment of tranquility and relaxation.

How are we different from a spa?

At Aequilibria we strive to provide massage therapy for your overall wellbeing.  Our massages are customized to help with chronic pain, medical, and sports-related issues. We provide stress relief to our clients through a relaxing environment and massage techniques.
